I knew it was way too early in the season to wear this outfit, but my love for fall fashion got the best of me. It was way too hot for this flannel shirt, leather skirt, and wool hat. However, I know this outfit will be on major repeat this fall!
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I was travelling this week. My lab group drove down to Texas to pick up some animals and decided to make a trip of it. On the way down, we stopped in St. Louis and went into the Gateway Arch. It was very crowded and small, but I was an awesome experience. I couldn’t believe how tall the arch was! We stayed in a nearby town and then left the following morning to do some hiking in the Ozark’s of Arkansas. Let’s just say that we had quite an experience.
A lot of the trails looked like they hadn’t been used in years, and we soon discovered why. Chiggers. We were covered in chiggers about 20 minutes into our hike and ended up bathing in hand sanitizer in the parking lot for about an hour to get them all off. They were all over my shoes and socks and crawling up my legs. I ended up only having two bites, so it could have been a lot worse than what it was. We left after we got most of the bugs off and made our way to our destination, the University of North Texas. We had to drive straight back since we had animals with us. It ended up being the longest drive of my life. And it smelled horrible. After being awake for 24 hours straight, I am so happy to finally be home and in my own bed!
