I just received my first Ipsy Glam Bag bag a few days ago, and couldn’t be more pleased. If you’ve never heard of Ipsy, it’s a monthly makeup and beauty subscription. It only costs $10 per month and you receive a makeup bag and five products ranging from deluxe samples to full-sized beauty products. When you get started with the subscription, you fill out a questionnaire about what types of products and brands you are interested in. I love Ipsy because you get a lot of great products for a low price and get to learn about and try new brands. They also include discount codes for most of the brands, so if you like a brand you can purchase more of their products and save some money. This post is in no way sponsored by Ipsy. I love watching and reading subscription reviews so I thought I would let you all know about my experience. Let me know if you would like to see more posts like this one in the future. I received the following in my March Ipsy bag:
Mini Eye Cream by Aphrodite ($8.99 value)
I have never heard of this brand before and I don’t have a need for this product, but I would like to try some other products by this brand. This eye cream smells amazing and the consistency is really nice. I wish it worked for puffiness, because that is really the only thing that I use eye creams for. I would like to try their Multi-Benefit CC Cream SPF 25 though. You can get 30% off any Aphrodite purchase with the code ‘IPSY30’.
Eye Shadow Brush by Beau Gachis Paris ($12.00 value)
This is another brand that I have never heard of before, but let me tell you I am obsessed with this brush. I’ve been wanting a nice eye shadow brush for a while now, because all of the ones that I have purchased in the past don’t apply a lot of product, which means I waste a lot of product. This brush is ah-mazing! I will definitely try out some of their other brushes in the future (I’m looking at you, contour brush). You can get 20% off any Beu Gachis Paris purchase with the code ‘beautifulipster’.
Lip Lacquer Lip Gloss by Model Co ($24.00 for full-sized product)
This is a brand that I have heard of but I’ve never tried before. I received this product in the shade ‘socialite’ which is a beautiful color. I’m not a big fan of sticky lip glosses, but I don’t mind this one that much. It smells like strawberries, which is always nice. I can’t say that I will purchase this product again in the future because I don’t like lip gloss that much, but I have been wearing it a lot so maybe I’ll change my mind. I would love to try out their lip balm (whose packaging looks an awful lot like the Baby Lips). Get 20% off your Model Co purchase and free shipping with the code ‘IPSY20’.
Precision Ink Liquid Eye Liner by ILLAMASQUA ($28.00 value)
Again, this is another brand that I have never heard of. This product came in the shade ‘abyss’ which is a dark black color. I have never really been successful with liquid eye liner in the past, so I was a bit hesitant about this product. I have been using this on my upper lash line almost daily and I actually quite like it. The product lasts all day and is easy to use. The price of this product seems a bit high, so I’m not sure if I would repurchase this in the future. I do like this eye liner though, so it’s possible.
Lotus Color Eye Shadow by Vera Mona ($32.99 for the full palette)
I received this product in the color ‘clover’, which is a beautiful shade of pink. I prefer brown and pink eye shadows because I have blue eyes and I think that those colors compliment my eyes the most. This eye shadow is amazing! I have been wearing this eye shadow as my base everyday since I got it. The pigmentation is wonderful and a little bit of product goes a long way. I wish that this brand sold their eye shadows in the same size as this sample because I honestly don’t like and would never use three of the shades in their 8 shadow palette. From their website it looks like they mainly sell brushes and a color switch sponge, so maybe they are just getting started with their actual make-up line. You can get 25% off any Vera Mona purchase and a free double-ended brush with the code ‘IPSY2016’.
The total value of the three full-sized products that I received was $48.99, plus I also received two sample-sized products. Seeing as the bag only cost me $10, I’d call that a win! Overall I am very pleased with this month’s glam bag.
Do you use Ipsy? What did you get in your bag this month?
